Willow Trees Hardiness Zone 8 Enjoy Blooms For Longer With variegated varieties require more Enjoy Blooms For Longer With This Collection and we continually strive to grow more each season The most commonly recognized tree of the family is the Weeping Willow․ It may be identified by the long‚ sometimes ground hugging‚ pendulous branches‚ the long‚ narrow leaves which are easily blown by the wind‚ and the general relaxed‚ pendulous appearance that it gives to a given area․ Weeping Willows can be found where there are lakes and rivers‚ in parks and in gardens․ The roots grow in the earth next to the rivers‚ lakes‚ and streams‚ into the wet earth․ The roots are deep enough to hold the soil and prevent erosion of the banks surrounding the river․ Additionally‚ this tree has been used in art and poetry as a symbol of mourning and melancholy due to its drooping branches and soft appearance‚ as well as an emblem of weakness․ In contrast‚ the Corkscrew Willow is often described as looking like it has twigs‚ or branches‚ growing in unusual‚ zany patterns․ In fact‚ its branches twist and spiral to form a unique‚ almost playful shape․ A twist on an ordinary form makes Corkscrew Willow a potential ornamental․ Corkscrew Willow alone may not be attractive enough to be the sole plant in a large lawn‚ but the twirling and twisting nature of the branches may make it an interesting addition in a more confined space where inquisitive visitors may choose to discover it․ The trees are tolerant of a variety of conditions and are commonly found in wetter areas‚ usually near ponds or streams․ The Corkscrew Willow's hardy‚ twisted nature has been used as a symbol of individuality‚ and as a reminder that beauty comes in many different forms․
